RUSTIC GARDEN

I actually cannot think of a better way to end the week than with this styled shoot from Melissa Beattie and I. This was a labour of hot and sweaty love (those that questioned if September was cool enough to conduct a shoot completely outdoors were completely right!) But I think that the sweat was well and truly worth it.

Mel and I wanted to create a rustic and romantic shoot with plenty of greenery and a simple colour palette of white with splashes of soft blue and green. Desert Palm with its acres of green fields just had to be the location and luckily for us, they happily obliged. We also managed to achieve Mel’s dream of capturing our bride with a beautiful (albeit grumpy) horse.

The next big item was the dress and we were thrilled when Barbaranne of Moirai Style agreed to design and make for us a dreamy wedding dress complete with lace cape. Oh how I loved that lace cape.

We finished off our bride’s look with the expertise of Lorna Butler who created an elegant chignon and soft make up which accentuated Aimee’s natural beauty.

Our floral man Patrick from Flowers by Contempo pulled out all the stops once more and created a  wonderful tablescape with rustic greens and dominant white flowers. The bouquet was unstructured with sweet smelling rosemary and the flower crown….words cannot do it justice, just wait for the pictures.

The table was finished with the beautiful vintage mismatched plates from Once Upon A Teatime and complimented with their cutlery and glassware. We hung white chandeliers by The Rustic Bead from the trees above the table which just finished off the whole look perfectly.

The stationery was completely and utterly incredible and reduced both Mel and I to doe-eyed stroking of the paper. Emily from Ever After Press created a full invitation range for us as well as menu and favour bags. Each piece was exquisitely designed and fitted with our theme perfectly.

Finally, Jane from Jane Hewitt Celebration and Theme Cakes worked her magic and created a faultless white rustic cake which I can verify tasted as good as it looks!

This is the third shoot Mel and I have created and I hope you love it as much as we do…..
